Medical errors can occur anywhere in the healthcare system; hospitals, clinics, outpatient surgery centers, doctor’s offices, pharmacies and patient's homes.
It is usually defined as something that did not work out or went wrong in the treatment and care of a patient. Medical errors are usually associated with careless or inexperienced health care workers, new procedures, and the complexity of medical records and history and treatment of the elderly, treatment in urgent care and/or co morbidities.
This lecture can be applied toward the 8 C.E. credits required for the NCMIC 5% discount.
