This 322-hour Program is intended to provide participants with postgraduate level education in the discipline of functional clinical nutrition to further knowledge from undergraduate education, previous postgraduate course and experience as a licensed health care provider. While these courses may be taken independently for relicensure requirements, this program meets the requirements to qualify to sit a qualifying examination for the Diplomate of CBCN Board and may qualify for other organizations.
Course 1 and Course 23 are currently being held in-person; all other modules will be offered via synchronous online delivery format.

To be eligible for the Diplomate of CBCN Board exam:
At the end of the program, those who have at least 300 transcript hours and successfully pass the examination requirements with a minimum grade of 75, and request in writing, will receive a Certificate of Attendance stating he/she has completed a postgraduate program in Functional Clinical Nutrition given by Northeast College of Health Sciences.
At the end of each course (2-22) a 28-question, multiple choice examination will be given. The passing grade is 75.
Each student will submit one published literature research paper. This published paper will count 10% of the final grade for the Program.
Two written case histories are required to be submitted at least one month before attending Course 23 one of the two will be selected by the instructor for presentation. In addition, there will be a 10-station practical examination and 100-question multiple choice written examinations over material covered in the Program.
The final grade for the Program will be calculated with the written examination 40%, the practical 20%, the case histories 30% and the published paper 10%. The passing grade is a minimum of 75.
While a concerted effort has been made to cover the broad subject of functional clinical nutrition with the end use in mind, a candidate for any Board Examination or any student wishing to apply to a certifying organization is ultimately responsible for learning the sources and material required by the examining board and/or organization. Northeast does not guarantee that all required material will be covered in the course or that a student will pass a Board certification examination or meet the requirements of a certifying organization.
The college reserves the right to alter dates, times, faculty, program locations or sources and sequences of presentations to accommodate faculty, student, or College needs. Northeast cannot be held responsible for any expenses incurred by students if a program must be altered. The course list is shown below.
