DESCRIPTION
THIS LECTURE BASED COURSE IS AIMED AT REVIEWING THE CLINICAL ASPECTS OF CEREBROVASCULAR ACCIDENTS. EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON PATHOGENIC MECHANISMS AND THE CLINICAL ASSESSMENT OF STROKE AS WELL AS MOVEMENT DISORDERS. OF PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE TO THE CHIROPRACTIC PROFESSION IS VERTEBRAL ARTERY DISSECTION ( VAD), & OR VERTEBROBASILAR INSUFFICIENCY (VBAI). DISCUSSION OF CONTEMPORARY VIEWPOINTS WILL BE EXPLORED ON THIS CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC. THE FINAL SEGMENT WILL INCLUDE CLINICAL MANAGEMENT AS WELL AS A CASE STUDY OF A STROKE PATIENT.
