DESCRIPTION
This case-based presentation focuses on frequently misdiagnosed and undermanaged skeletal conditions seen in children and adolescents. Clinicians will develop an understanding of how pediatric spinal conditions manifest differently from adult patients and the varying degrees of skeletal maturity. This understanding will improve the clinician’s ability to interpret spinal imaging studies as well as help the clinician recognize these entities sooner, ultimately helping facilitate the most expeditious and appropriate care. The selected regions to review will be the cervical spine, the thoracic spine, the lumbopelvic spinal region, the knee, and the wrist. Spinal level innervation for the hip, knee and wrist will be reviewed.
