DESCRIPTION
Headache is the second leading cause of disability worldwide and is a symptom that often responds well to Chiropractic management. The course begins with the assessment and examination of the headache patient. The four classifications of primary headache will be reviewed along with the most common causes of secondary headache. The differential diagnosis of cervicogenic, myofascial syndromes and TMJ related headache will be presented along with treatment principles involving CMT, soft tissue techniques, lifestyle, diet and nutraceuticals. Headache requiring referral will be thoroughly discussed so the clinician can accurately determine if the patient is a candidate for conservative care.
