DESCRIPTION
Presentation of upper extremity injuries can be complicated by involvement of the cervical spine. Understanding the mechanism of injury and choosing the correct diagnostic evaluation are keystones for proper management of injuries particularly in the pediatric patient. Delay in diagnosis is not uncommon in this patient group. Important considerations in assesment are sex differences, nutritional deficiencies and hypermobility; these can have a significant impact risk for injury.
• Assessment of upper extremity injuries in the growing child
• Differential diagnosis of upper extremity injuries
• Appropriate treatment of shoulder, elbow and wrist
• Neuromuscular training and rehabilitation
• Appropriate training for the developing child
