The hip joint is prone to different problems throughout growth and development. This review will cover problems presenting already in infancy, how to best evaluate and advice for conservative co-management. There are specific risk factors for each of these problems which will aid in diagnosis.
• Evaluation of the infant for hip dysplasia
• Evaluation of the toddler for transient synovitis of the hip
• Evaluation of the child for Legg Calve Perthes
• Evaluation of the pre-adolescent/adolescent for SCFE
• Risk factors and diagnosis for these pathologies
