NYS Updated Mandated Reporter Training Requirements - Addendum

Updated Mandated Reporter Training Requirements amended Section 413 of the Social Services Law requires the New York State Mandated Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect coursework to include the addition of guidance on identifying an abused or maltreated child when such child is an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability. The law requires that every person who is required to take the mandated training related to child abuse, including those who have previously undergone this training, must complete the updated curriculum by November 17, 2026.
