DESCRIPTION
Inflammation and musculoskeletal pain are closely related, as inflammation is often a key factor contributing to musculoskeletal discomfort. When tissues in the musculoskeletal system become inflamed, the result is often pain. Inflammation increases blood flow and immune cell activity in the area, which can lead to swelling and a buildup of fluids, putting pressure on nerves and tissues, resulting in pain. Understanding the cause of inflammation and pain is crucial for targeted treatment. When dealing with patients that suffer from persistent musculoskeletal pain, a functional approach leads to better patient outcomes.
