This 2-hour webinar will examine the various biopsychosocial factors impacting healthy equity in a multicultural society. Personal belief systems and cognitive bias that may affect the chiropractor-patient relationship will be discussed.
Hour 1 – What is healthy equity? How is it unique from health equality? What factors affect achieving health equity goals?
Hour 2 – How can the Doctor of Chiropractic improve their communication skills and clinical procedures to promote health equity within their practices and communities?
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
• Describe health equity and the biopsychosocial factors that can influence achieving related goals.
• Evaluate their cognitive biases and cultural competence to improve doctor-patient interactions within chiropractic clinical care.
• Consider avenues to share knowledge about chiropractic health promotion activities that reflect healthy equity with their communities.
