DESCRIPTION
As many as 35% of adults aged 40 years or older in the United States—approximately 69 million Americans—have experienced some form of vestibular dysfunction. That means that these patients are presenting to the chiropractic office and yet the majority of chiropractors do not understand how to evaluate and treat this very common problem. It has been estimated that only 15% of these patients have a primary cervical spine dysfunction causing the problem, yet the DC is usually only equipped to treat the spine. To make matters worse, these patients are flocking to physical therapists and away from the DC practice. This presentation will offer an overview of these disorders and how the DC can properly assess them and put a plan in place for appropriate patient care.
