DESCRIPTION
Concussion is one of the most common recreational and sports injuries in the pediatric population and is now considered a major public health issue. This is of particular concern in children as significant cognitive development is taking place. Although macroscopic injury is seldom present, microstructural injury has been associated with prolonged neurological signs and symptoms. Children are more vulnerable to the negative impact of concussion and prolonged effect on the developing brain.
