DESCRIPTION

This module will introduce spinal assessment in the newborn and infant. Normal and abnormal presentations will be discussed. Age-appropriate treatment techniques will be reviewed. (1 hour)
Hour 1
• This part of the lecture will focus on assessing the newborn for spinal dysfunction
• Normal and abnormal postures and presentations will be reviewed
• Treatment techniques will be reviewed
• The infant 4 + weeks will be evaluated for spinal dysfunction
• Demonstration of treatment techniques will be reviewed
• Appropriate forces for safe care of the neonate and infant will be discussed
