DESCRIPTION
The history and examination for the infant are unique and differ from that in the child. For safe care of infants, practitioners must recognize the signs and symptoms of acute illness where referral is critical. The history explores maternal, prenatal and perinatal health with attention focusing on details of delivery. Signs and symptoms of biomechanical dysfunction; psychological health, particularly bonding; and presentation of allergy and intolerance will be a focus.
